First Impression... Kinky.

My journey into the underworld of IMVU began on Friday, March 30, 2018. I was a bit skeptical about creating an account because of all the horror stories I've heard from people getting their accounts h4c|<7d. The only thing that made me feel more comfortable was that upon reading the Terms of Service (TOS), I found that it was forbidden to disclose my IMVU account name. I figured that anyone who would steal my account information wouldn't likely ask me to keep it safe... That thought and my curiosity prompted me to create an account.
The first thing that I did on joining was click on the black market tab. Instantly, I was greeted by a bright and inviting page which listed so many items, I felt momentarily overwhelmed and wondered briefly if I could really purchase the items I was seeing and feeling a bit apprehensive. Will IMVU ban me next time I log in? Biting my lip, I pushed the thought aside and continued browsing.
I felt a little naughty as my face grew warm the more I browsed through the sex items but I found one item that I just had to have. It was only $6 so I clicked add to cart and checked out. I waited for the payment option to pop up but nothing happened. Pouting, I waited impatiently for a few more minutes. Eventually I got tired of waiting and started fearing that this was a scam or that I had done something wrong. I found a FAQ tab and looked through it until I found what I needed... I felt silly as I read and realized that I was supposed to wait for a bill to be sent with me and the bill would include payment information.
I received my bill with a very detailed set of instructions on completing my purchase. The bill took a few hours. Once I read the instructions, I was sad that I could not purchase directly through pay-pal but I was glad that there was an alternative. I purchased an amazon card for $9... yes, I found a few more goodies and added those to cart as well. Once I followed the instructions on the bill, I waited patiently and by the next day, I had the links to download my items in the inbox.
I admit, I squealed like a fangirl at a Justin Bieber concert when I saw my inbox. Excitedly, I downloaded my items and got ready to upload... then I took a deep breath and actually read the instructions. Letting out a deep sigh, I realized I had work to do. I couldn't upload on my main account and I had to set up the account and files. I followed the instructions as best as I could but I really wanted to see if my items would work. I was more curious than skeptical by that point. I followed my instructions and ran the files through all the included programs.. There were A LOT of programs included with my purchase. At the time, I really just wanted to play with stuff so I didn't really put much thought into what was included. Now, I realize how much work and foresight went into everything. ImvuMafias does not play around. They provided me with so much stuff, I should have been all set. Unfortunately, in my haste, I failed to prepare my account properly. I uploaded first one pose and it took much longer than 10 minutes to clear review. Instructions stated that once an item passed in 10 minutes or less, the account was ready. Well, I hit publish and waited but it did not clear and I honestly didn't know how to cancel it so I let it go. The next day, it had cleared and I was thrilled. The item worked great. I send it to one of my friends and he gave me 10k which he said was an investment. I was on cloud 9 and uploaded the other 3 poses. Again, it took a day to pass but everything cleared and I sent everything to my friend since he had invested 10k to help me get started... I may have been ok if I had stopped there but I was so happy that everything had passed, I chose to ignore the 10 minute rule on peer review and I uploaded my final item.. a trigger cock.
My trigger cock did not clear by the next day and I began to get really nervous. I wanted to cancel it but I had no idea how so I just waited... Another day passed and I was too nervous to log in. I finally got the nerve to do it and I sat at my desk and hit the log in key on my screen. Imvu character flashed on and I felt relief flood through me.. then it disconnected and I found myself cursing IMVU and their crappy, unstable app. I clicked log in again.. an error message flashed across my screen. I continued trying to log in through the desktop client and nothing happened. I caved and tried to log in on the IMVU website where I finally received a message stating that I had been banned. I shrugged thinking, oh well, I knew this was a risk.. and then I realized that the 10k investment was still on the banned account. Dammit!! I felt awful for my friend. I assured him I would pay him back but he said not to worry about it. Still, 10k was a lot of coins. Lesson learned.
Feeling disillusioned, I gave up on ImvuMafias and told myself I wasn't made for this. I decided I wouldn't waste my money here and I was never coming back. I was frustrated and very sad but during this time, I had made on friend here. I mentioned to him that I had failed on my first attempt and within the day, I had received a message from Don Von Alpha Dom himself asking what had happened and providing information for me. I was so relieved and impressed by the attention and how promptly he had reached out. I decided to give it another shot and actually follow instructions this time since it was my own fault that I failed for being so impatient.
Now, I am still building up my alternate account. I am being cautious and taking my time before I attempt to upload my next item. In the mean time, I have decided to get to know the members of this community and contribute as I am able. In doing so, I have found so much information about so many topics. ImvuMafias is more than a sex shop. The resources here are priceless to those who are willing to actually look and learn. There is so much knowledge hidden in the forums and I have learned that if something is difficult to understand, the community members are always willing to help. I appreciate how willing to help one another everyone is. This truly is a family and I hope that those who are just floating through believing that this is just a sex shop will find something or someone to pull them in further and help them to see the true potential of this community and the wonderful people who make it possible.

I relished the thought of no longer freezing upon meeting strangers. No longer would i find myself trembling in trepidation, chest pounding, heart thudding in my ears, my breath in small, strained gasps, and the world spinning. No more jaw locking shut as I struggled to say so much as "hi." No more tear of frustrating at the realization that I was falling apart once again.Sadly, I was wrong... so very wrong. My fingers trembled and my hands grew heavy and unresponsive. I couldn't even type "hello." It was frustrating to know that even online, sheltered in the anonymity that allows so many to grasp false confidences and bravado, I still struggled to find my own voice. It took nearly a year before I was comfortable enough to attempt friendships. Even now, I struggle to make real connections.It was through one of these online connections that I heard of ImvuMafias. I was told of a site that sold black market items that I could use to sell and create my own shop.The thought of being able to provide a service to others made me ecstatic.... I saw this as an opportunity to open a door to creating more connections.
People terrify me, yet I find myself still wishing for their presence because being alone terrifies me more.
