okay, so i am not sure if I am out of line posting this topic here, but i really want to be a developer and it's pissing me off that i have to pay for my name so that i can create. I am a graphic designer, and am currently (LEARNING) how to program and develop my own video games (i'm working on a team currently and mostly doing animation, background design and story line) What I really want to do is make clothing and furniture for IMVU, but I want to know before my broke ass goes and scrapes some change together to buy my name, what exact program you use to create things, if it costs extra credits each time you create something, if you have to sell them or if you can give them to people for free who want them? if you do sell them then do you get the credits, just basic information.
That would be very helpful.
P.S I am very sorry if I have posted this in the wrong spot.
I couldn't find a place that seemed more appropriate... but it could be because it's late at night and I'm not thinking clearly haha ^__^

~thanks

you need the imvu previewer, free. You need photoshop, GIMP or PAINT.NET if you're re-tecturing other meshes. You need 3dmax to create 3d things for imvu, very expensive, or use a cracked torrent version. You pay the mesh prices and 50-500 creds submission fee. 500 if youre a starting developer. You have to pay to give ur stuff to people but youll get regular profit. If they buy with promos you get a worthless dev token worth 10cred discount on next upload. If they pay in real creds u get ur profit. Your product price: IMVU product + mesh price + your profit + IMVU fee (10%). You can derive directly off of IMVU Inc's product to keep the mesh price as low as possible. Lowest is 275. Otherwise itll be mesh price (the IMVU product derivational price will be included in mesh price).

Eg. I derive a house off IMVU's example scene and put in my own instead.
Price: 275+200 (my profit, eg.)+48 (IMVU fee) = 523 (and I only get 200 of that, yes)
I make it derivable for others to retexture.

Their product price of the retexturer's product will be: 523+100 their prodit (eg.)+63 = 686, of which they only get 100.

IMVU = creativity thief. Face it. You pay to upload stuff that keeps their catalog going and they take almost all ur profit.

Hmm, bookmarking this as it taught me things I didn't know about developing, being that I've thus far been too lazy to look into it.

Ok, this is the only forum that I see where my question would fit in to. If this is not the right place please give me a heads up of where, I should post my question. Now to my question, I received an email today from IMVU Mafia regarding T3de Version 7 program. Can somebody explain to me what exactly I can do with this program, how will it benefit me with my developing on IMVU? I couldn't understand what the benefits were from the YouTube link. Thanks in advance.

Phoenix, we have several threads regarding that in some guarded sections for more privileged members. Also you can make your own thread to ask that question. Either way, as a normal developer it's not a needed tool.

So what do you need IMVU VIP for that section?
