how would i go about placing a flash widget that streams tv?

So there is a creator that has gone through and completed this and it works beautifully. mind you the tv programs are offline/out of service. I love the idea mind you I would like to be able to do something similar so that way its not in breach of DCMA. any possible suggestions?

you mean in a web browser, or in an imvu room, or... ?

I would start by ripping their flash widget and decompiling their code, so you can see how it works. From there, reverse engineer and replace the services with ones that do work.

I thought they disabled the flash wigets? Anshe's have been dead for eons now. Chickaflicka made one that I thought has gone the way of the dodo as well. I think it was due to people exploiting it. I'm not 100% on this but they have been dead awhile for me, but the last time I checked was also over a year ago. They newly made a drive in, Imvu had and gave it out to everyone, maybe reverse engineering theirs might help. I would think theirs is not old code.

Flash is dead on websites, but in the classic client it's alive and well.

Oh I see, I'm referring to imvu, they disabled it for a time, I know its dead on websites though lol. But I guess they brought it back. I say this due to there being a highly popular flash widget on the first page of the catty for as long as one of my couches was there, had to be 6 years or so, it dominated the front page. Then they I guess disabled it for a time, and suddenly the product was getting terrible reviews of flash not working and it dropped off the front page like a 100lbs weight lol. But imvu did make one themselves, so by that, I can see they brought it back. I suppose reverse engineering theirs would get the best results? :awesome22:

um... are we talking about a widget that streams video into an object in an imvu room?

that is, something that can show the video like on a tv screen in a room, and it gets treated like a 3d object, moving as you move the viewpoint, getting larger, smaller, etc.?

or, are we talking about a static 2d overlay that floats over your view of an imvu room, like on a web page?

also, video and audio, or just video?

there are a number of youtube addons in the imvu store, but they seem to be mostly janky 2d overlays.

the creator is i believe is byte3d. he made a live tv flash and unfortunately all the shows are offline but I would want to custom make my own variant of the live tv.

I believe Don gave the best Idea for this. You would just need a mesh. However Emes also has a Flash widget mesh for sale on her sellfy. Its rather cheap on sale right now too for black friday. You could try looking at the persons mesh you like vs Emes and then fixing the code to your liking. Maybe use hers as a base.
