Desktop to Laptop

So I was wondering if it was possible if I take a old style, wide screen, thick base laptop and put the hardware of my desktop into it to have it run. There are plenty of videos of turning a laptop into a desktop but is the reverse possible?

That sounds interesting but you will have to figure out a cooling system as the hardware for the desktop pulls more current generating more heat around the board hence bigger fans, although the body of the oldschool thick laptops are big are they big enough to take a coolin fan sufficient enough for the size of the hardware, (thinking longterm use)

While not exactly the same as what you're asking, there are laptops running full desktop cpus such as the Alienware Area-51m. It doesn't use standard pcbs and has a mobile GPU but the cpu is a full sized desktop cpu that you could put into any normal desktop motherboard.

As for putting desktop grade hardware into a laptop chasis, yes...if you could find a chasis big enough but really all you're doing is building a small form factor pc which has been a thing for decades. Not really worth it when you take into consideration all the issues you'd have to overcome like cooling ad noise.

This could be accually pretty sensible if you sure you could do it, but these kinds of mods are pretty freaking hard, and only one mistake and boom you are done. So think alot before starting your projects. Oh and btw choose less power hungry hardware that's what i recoment atleast. Even LTT didn't do it if i could remember.
