She stands alone, in a daze, as a single tear falls begotten
Her mind slips back to days filled with joy and laughter, not forgotten.
Her body trembles remembering his breath, his touch, his love deep within
Their joy, their happiness, their love all construed as a mortal sin.
Then one fateful night, God's hand reached down from the heavens above
To extinguish the raging flames of their desires and love.
The words they speak ring in her ears, her mind swirling with hate
She desperately tries to pull his tortured soul back from the almighty gate.
She stands in a daze, as visions fleet by of the twisted wreckage of metal
Broken glass, screams, bodies, lights, sirens, her mind just can't settle.
She feels cheated and robbed as her world crashes down around her
Time seems to stand still now as everything quickly slows to a blur.
She takes a deep breath, and slowly steps ahead
Trying to remember the words they last said.
Her whole life has changed now, in the blink of an eye
She lays a single rose atop his coffin, then reluctantly says goodbye.
Dreams Of You
I lay alone in bed at night, my mind wanders to and fro.
Dim lights, soft sounds fill the air of the streets so far below.
I close my eyes and think of you and smile from ear to ear.
The thoughts and worries that filled my day begin to disappear.
I hear your words, I feel your touch, my love for you runs deep.
My heart skips a little more for you, as I slowly drift to sleep.
Within your hands you hold my heart, my gift to you to keep.
So treasure it and hold it close and never let it go,
And to you I'll always faithful be, but this I'm sure you know.
But even with the distance that keeps you far away,
