Hi my name is Lux, I currently work as a line cook in a fine dining restaurant. I love snowboarding and hiking!! I'm really outdoorsy. I have not been exposed too much to anything like this so it should be interesting and I am hoping that you can help me. For the past week I have been fighting with a h4c|<7r (user) over my main and alternate account, every time I get IMVU to reset the password and email he manages to get my accounts back. They have been disabled for the time being, and I guess my question would be how can I protect myself? Is there anything I can do to prevent him from accessing them once I enable them?

I have talked multiple times to Support, called them three times just yesterday to get my accounts back/disabled, and email, information changed.


Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

In the terms of someone taking over your account, it can be a struggle to properly protect yourself.
Installing an anti-hacking software or an anti-hacking bot could be of assistance, but if the person who is taking over your accounts knows their stuff, getting around these bots can be pretty simple.

www.avast.com has a software that could provide some extra security in the effort.

Also, keep in mind that you should NEVER share your information with ANYONE!
Even if they say they are an administrator, that is very unlikely. Even just sharing your e-mail can be damning, I would recommend sharing a separate e-mail if you absolutely feel the need to share one.

Furthermore, if this problem is persisting as you have stated, perhaps just starting over would be smart. From what it seems, this "h4c|<7r" has nothing better to do with their life than hacking you in particular. So just start over. I know that seems harsh, as I am sure you have put a fair amount of time and money into your account, but safety is the #1 concern, especially if you have bank information tied to that e-mail or have used a credit card with that account, it is fairly simple to gain that information if you have the person's login.

I guess my question is more, is there a way to see how extensive his h4c|< is? I have an incredibly strong feeling he is just guessing my password, since I have had no problem with any other account. I've checked bank statements and there is no activity. I have changed my default email to outlook, linked with multiple other emails so I am able to track activity on my accounts. I truly don't believe I am dealing with an incredibly skilled h4c|<7r, which is the lead to my beginning question. Is there any way to see how much information he has on me? I know the user who is responsible, I had never friended him or spoken to him besides the first interaction we ever had. Never clicked a link, never gave my info.
He is still consistently harassing me to expose myself on camera for him to leave me alone, and we all know that it won't stop even if I do.
He was able to block me from seeing emails from IMVU, which is how I believe he's had such an easy time changing my information.

if he has been on your account already, then most likely he has linked your account with one of his email where he can sign into your account all the time without your password. doesnt matter if you keep changing it. he will have access as long as his email is linked to your account

delete the ones you do not recognise.

Make sure your password is really long and random, so the h4c|<7r can not brute force their way in: services/generators/imvu-password-gen.php

i dont think they can brute force into an account. you only get 3 wrong tries and the account is disabled. then you have to send a ticket to reactivate it

I have both accounts disabled for now and I need to call Support for them to activate them,
are they able to see the emails that I have linked to the account? I don't want to risk the chance of being too slow and him being able to take them both again.

however, your answer does sound like it easily applies.

yes you can ask support to remove all linked emails also.

I have currently enabled one of my accounts and created a long, extensive password for it.
I looked at the manage OpenID and there was nothing on it,
I will keep you updated and let you know if I end up losing this account within the next couple days.

If so I'm more than likely just going to give up and create a new one.

So this was not the answer,
I had checked to make sure no email was linked and I made an incredibly complex password,
he was still able to get a password reset and change my email without any notification of an email change.

I don't know how he sees that I am online, I don't know how he is constantly able to get it back.

I agree if he access to your account... there no way. u can safe it unless u remove it.
