Hi guys! I'm a returning VU player, and I've always wanted to be a creator. My goal is to become a level 10 pro creator someday. I know it's a lot of hard work and requires me to put in the hours and be consistent. I've got a lot of questions:

- What tips could you give someone who wants to start from scratch? I know there are a lot of knowledge bases for those who are starting from scratch, but which specific sites or tutorials have been most helpful to you?
- How many products do you create and how often do you make them? If there's a difference between the amount of products you put out at the very beginning from the present, I'd also like to know whether you've slowed down a bit, have been consistent throughout the months and/or years, or churning out more than you have at the start.
- What would you say is an ideal starting capital (in terms of credits, of course) for an aspiring creator?
- How long have you been a creator or when did you start your journey as a creator?
- If you have any tips regarding common mistakes that newbie creators tend to make, what would you suggest? Or any helpful tips for someone just starting out in general.
- How does one get their product to the first page?
- Did you create your own product icons? Do you do your own product catalogue image editing?
- This may most definitely vary from person to person, but how much real life money have you spent getting started? What are the things you've invested on (i.e., tutorials, commissions, reviews, credits, etc.)?
- Is there also a group for creators to learn and help each other out, or is it a "to each his own" thing?
- How long does it usually take for you to create a product? What do you specialize in (i.e., creating meshes, retexturing, etc.)?

I'm sure there's still a couple more questions, but these are the only ones at the top of my head for now. I tried using the search function but I don't think there's a thread like this one. Also, it would mean the world to me if I get to connect with you. My friends list is currently empty - everyone I've ever known in the past has long since moved on from VU.

Find a niche and name your account after that niche. For example, the top seller of scalers is named "scaler". If your account name has what you are selling in it, then you show up sooner in catalog searches and make more sales. Pick a clothing item or product type or descriptor, and name yourself after it.

Thank you! Sounds simple but I never would have thought of that.

Fingers crossed a bunch of other people answer the remaining questions though :rainbowsheep:

I think as a new creator it's needed to continously making products daily,1-2 products should be good daily. I Creates mostly for myself when we create we gets the product we made so it's basically like same as buying difference is you just have to pay 500 derivation fee. But I think that fee is fine if we can customize our clothing accordingly to us.

You may try taking inspirations from internet about what textures would be good for dresses, for the start changing textures are good and start with less profit, it's good to maintain the final price of ur product in the range of 700.

I uses gimp for now to do most work and sometimes use in built paint3d of windows 10 for just putting pictures on a texture.

To make your own custom designs I think there is some meshes use I am trying to understand that part yet, there is many tutorials on web but to learn basic imvu tutorials will be good by learning about body parts in meshes, opacity, shininess.

Try to make those things which were not available when u searched them, like every country has their own culture and not everyone find things according to them.

More you try things more you will learn when u derive from a product see everyone product who has derived from same product it gonna give u ideas that how we need to approach, never fear about changing any settings and options just explore and learn.

Creating will take time and any funds are less so just think it as you are making things for yourself and spending on you.

More the products more are the chances of sell, more frequently u make products ur name will come in newest products which is the area of most sales.

It takes me around a hour if I am making guys clothings and adding some pictures in textures. And for women clothing any amount of time is less I think.

Hello there. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. If I may ask, what's your niche? Clothing?

I saw the tutorials section here on IMVU Mafias, and thought it might be just a little bit outdated (but still helpful starting out). I do think the few videos I've seen on YouTube might be handy. Haven't tried looking up tutorials on other places yet though.

Can I add you on IMVU? I'd love to be friends! :please:
