I usually just try to ignore it. I get a lot of requests for gifts, free display pictures, and even have been asked to buy people VIP and AP, when I cannot even afford credits or VIP at the moment to re-open my rooms.

If someone I know ask me, I will give them the catalog link instead of the exact product link I'm wearing.
Make them put some effort in searching. Maybe they can find something different for them..
If strangers ask me I will try to ignore them too.

Lately with people who ask me for free gifts. I ask them to listen to me rant about politics, wait them to respond and continue.
