Hey everyone! As a huge anime enthusiast, I love diving into different worlds, exploring unique characters, and getting swept away by incredible stories. Anime has this amazing way of capturing emotions and themes that resonate deeply with us, and I’m always on the lookout for recommendations.

I want to hear from all of you: What’s your favorite anime, and what makes it stand out for you? Is it the gripping storyline, the unforgettable characters, or perhaps the stunning animation? Whether it’s a classic series that shaped your love for anime or a recent title that blew you away, I’d love to know!

For me, choosing just one favorite is nearly impossible, so I have three that I absolutely love:

Death Note - This psychological thriller keeps me on the edge of my seat every time! The battle of wits between Light and L is so intricately designed, and it really makes you think about morality and justice. (My favorite character is Misa Amane, I see myself in her sooo much !!! hehehe ) :33

My Hero Academia - I adore the vibrant world of heroes and villains! The character development is fantastic, and it’s inspiring to see how each character embarks on their own journey of growth and self-discovery.

Angels of Death - This one is a bit darker, but the unique plot and intense atmosphere really drew me in. The dynamic between the characters is intriguing, and the story keeps you guessing until the very end.

Now it’s your turn! Share your favorite anime and a little about why you love it. I’m looking forward to discovering new shows to add to my watchlist based on your recommendations. Let’s celebrate our passion for anime together!

Ahh I love how passionate you are about anime! You really captured the magic of what makes anime so special—how it goes beyond just animation and becomes a whole experience. I totally agree; anime has this incredible way of blending emotion, action, and deeper life themes in ways that stay with you long after the credits roll. Your top three are solid picks too!

Death Note is such a psychological rollercoaster! That cat-and-mouse game between Light and L is legendary, and it really forces you to think about justice, power, and the gray areas in between. Also, shoutout to Misa Amane! She’s a vibe—loyal, bold, dramatic, and honestly, she deserves way more credit than she gets.

My Hero Academia is one of those shows that just pulls you in with its energy. The growth of characters like Deku, Todoroki, and even Bakugo has been amazing to watch. And the way the show explores what it really means to be a hero—it’s super inspiring. Every fight feels like it means something deeper.

And Angels of Death? Ohhh yes. That one’s so underrated. I love anime with darker, twisted narratives, and the mystery throughout the story had me hooked. The relationship between Zack and Rachel is so strange yet oddly compelling, like a twisted fairytale. Love that pick!

As for me, choosing just a few is tough, but here are some of my all-time favorites:

1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

This one checks every box—epic plot, powerful character arcs, emotional weight, and philosophical depth. The journey of Ed and Al searching for the Philosopher’s Stone while navigating themes like sacrifice, redemption, and the consequences of ambition is just… perfection. And let’s not forget Roy Mustang and that one iconic moment in the rain (you know the one).

2. Jujutsu Kaisen

Visually stunning with some of the most beautifully choreographed fight scenes I’ve seen in anime. The energy is nonstop, the lore is rich, and the characters—especially Gojo and Sukuna—are unforgettable. Plus, the mix of humor and horror hits just right.

3. Nana

This one hits differently. It’s emotional, messy, and beautifully human. Following the lives of two women with the same name but vastly different personalities, Nana dives deep into love, heartbreak, ambition, and friendship. The music, fashion, and raw storytelling make it such a unique experience—it’s not just an anime, it’s a mood.

There are so many more I could name (Attack on Titan, Erased, Mob Psycho 100, Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song), but I’ll stop myself before I turn this into a full-on essay (oops—maybe I already did?).

Can’t wait to see everyone else’s favorites! I love discovering hidden gems or hearing what anime meant the most to someone personally. Thanks again for starting this thread—it feels like a cozy anime hangout already!

I actually am pretty new to anime, only starting from last year (ex gave me her crunchyroll acc to use). But, out of the ones I have watched, there's a few that have left their mark for me:

1. Tokyo Ghoul - Ironically one of my favorites and yet I still refuse to watch the final season because it felt like a wild change of how the show was. My favorite character in that anime is Juuzou Suzuya, what a cool character, lol.

2. Death Note - Probably a shocker to no one, Death Note was an amazing anime to dive into the anime scene with, even watching it again and again always end up seeing some new piece of info you didn't pick up on before.. (Ryuk is amazing btw)

3. Eighty Six - I don't see this anime listed much on peoples lists across other platforms, but man.. That anime was amazing, I was surprised how invested I got into it tbh. Still the only anime so far to actually make me tear up near the end! 10/10

4. Tower of God - I got super invested in the one too, so much so I watched the new season day 1 of its airing on crunchyroll. Great anime, made me learn to hate some characters. LOL
