Some people have asked me how to animate pictures so I made this tutorial, I hope it
helps.

The fade in effect is a lot of pictures together each showing one after another Example: Click Here
1) Open GIMP
2) Add a background on the bottom layer in any colour you like for the fade in effect. (I usually use red, white or black).
3) Create as many layers as you think it's necessary. ( The amount of pictures you would like to see in the animation.^^)
4) Add pictures to the layers or make designs on them(whatever works for you)
5) The fade in layer MUST be at the bottom if it is not then drag it down.
6) After you have successfully added images to your layers do the following: Filters>> Animation >> Blend.
7) The number of frames indicates how intense the fade effect will be. [ I usually select 10 frames or 5 if I want it faster, you can choose as many frames as you want. ^^)
8 ) The Max. Blur Radius is used as a fog effect when blending, you can set it to 5 or 10 for a fog effect( leave it at zero if you don't want the fog effect. ^^). This is optional ofcourse
9) If you have made the animation and want to see how it looks like do the following: Filters>> Animation >> PlayBack
10) After you have finally made the animation look as good as you wanted you can add a border to make it look better by doing the following : Filters >> Decor >> Add Border ^^ Do NOT forget to drag the border to the bottom layer and merge it down (Optional)
11) Do NOT forget to do the following: Filters >> Animation >> Optimize (for GIF). This will reduce the picture's size
12) Now all you have to do is save the picture as a GIF file and you are done. ^^

If you happened to have any questions just ask. ^^
