Hello E/everyone, can someone be so kind as to tell me how does the video link box work on the homepage? I mean can we add any video (within reason that is lol) from any site like if I have a video of avies dancing with some random song or a funny chat captured I wish to share with others (G rated of course :lol: :badgrin: :wink:) that come to my page and I host it on my own server can Ior does it have to be uploaded like on youtube or the like? also, call me the crazy as batshit blonde this morning :mrgreen: :? :-p but how exactly is it done lol? I have never made sense of this link no more than the difference between my sandbox url and my catty url. they look the same to me atleast most times they do. lol anyways I hope that someone out there can enlighten me so to speak. I create videos for clients and I would love to share some on my homepage to let others that don't know or understand what my videos are for see some of them. Thanks as always!

As far as I know, the video panel is nothing more than a blank panel with a custom name. I personally use it to hold all my custom code. But I imagine any html or flash video would work in it if you have the code. Try putting the embed code for a YouTube video in it.

Also:

Only problem i run into is compatability issues with certain web browsers when embedding videos.

The YouTube embed code should work on all major browsers. Most other popular video sites should as well.

Unfortunately thats not the case :( that ive run into. Seems narrowed down to the Vevo vids from youtube that do not play on IE

What version of IE are you using?

I use FF but i like to see how things look in other browsers. i test things in IE v11. Chrome is funny about youtube embed too.

Can you share some example video codes you've tried?

This is the code youtube provides for embedding. Works in FF but not IE. Again i think its a Vevo thing maybe you can shed light on this.
Code
<iframe width="100" height="40" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/o_1aF54DO60?&autoplay=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This works for both browsers:
Code
<embed width="100" height="40" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/B4EIZEVX3pE&autoplay=1"
   type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
   </embed>

But if i use the one coming from Vevo in the second code. It doesnt work or says restricted.
